Guidance on Tipping at All-Inclusive Resorts

Tipping is entirely at your discretion and should reflect the service you receive/expect, but lots of VBH clients ask us for our tipping advice, so we are sharing that here.

Before departing on a trip, we usually get $20-30/day in USD for tipping in destination. We typically ask the bank teller to exchange the money into $1s and $5s. Sometimes the front desk at the hotel can do this for you if you run out of smaller bills while in destination, but not always.

Tipping is optional, but our my experience it does tend to improve the service you receive and the small cost to you can make a big difference in the lives of those providing the service.
