Where In the World…

It’s been a while since we sent an email, but we didn’t want you to think we had forgotten you… frankly we have been very busy helping so many new and repeat VBH travelers plan and execute trips all over the world that we haven’t had time to get a newsletter off to you!

Summer has had VBH clients exploring all over the globe — it goes without saying that many have headed to Europe (including trips to France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom) but we also have clients heading north to Alaska, to far off Bali, even exploring the Galapagos and Peru and catching soccer games in Australia and New Zealand, as well as numerous people staying closer to home, including trips to Mexico and the Caribbean, as well as road trips in the Northeast and the Canadian Rockies.

And the VBH Travel team has been out exploring as well! Lauren headed to Portugal while her kids were at sleepaway camp and then to the DR to explore resorts, Sandy is taking a road trip to Maine, Holly had a family reunion and is still trying to figure out her end-of-summer plans, Kelly will be relaxing at Club Med in the Dominican Republic and Heather is heading with her family to Hawaii at the end of August.

Passport Reminders From VBH Travel

As I’m sure you’ve heard, passport applications and renewals are still taking quite a while… 10-13 weeks for regular renewals and 7-9 weeks for expedited ones. Unfortunately we have had some clients who have had to cancel trips because of expired passports, so PLEASE take a moment to look at your passport expiration dates and consider renewing with LOTS of leeway so you don’t end up disappointed! The universal guideline is to have a passport that is valid for 6 months beyond your trip, but requirements vary by country. You can check the requirements of your destination on the State Department Website.

It’s also a great idea to enroll in the STEP program if you’re traveling abroad — this helps the US authorities know where you are if there are issues abroad.
